"We prepare each student to become a global citizen who can shape the world"
Globeducate´s mission IS perfectly aligned with that ofthe Canadian School of Florence.
Connecting young
minds and spirits
for a global perspective
The world is changing at an incredible pace and education has to keep up with this constantly shifting environment. Our students can only succeed in tomorrow´s world if they are well prepared for the challenges they will face in their future professional and personal lives. In addition to providing an excellent academic education, we ensure that our students develop skills and abilities beyond the purely academic and lay down a solid, values-based foundation for life.
Globeducate People & Culture:
an introduction
Our Key Principles
Globeducate´s educational vision is based on four fundamental principles: Educational Excellence, Skills and Competencies, Character and Global Perspectives.
Our Globeducate Agenda
Globeducate has developed a Global Agenda to bring our vision to life in classrooms. Through partnerships with WWF and Eco-Schools, we can fulfil our mission to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
As educators at Globeducate, we have the opportunity and responsibility to lay the foundations for a better future and this begins with a robust response to the pace of change we see in the world and to the approach we take to sustainability education.
Watch this short film explaining Globeducate´s mission to address the social, economic and environmental challenges that are re-shaping our communities across the world.
Taking action today to protect tomorrow
We partner with WWF to offer a varied calendar of awareness-raising online and in-person events. Delivering sustainability education means our students drive change.
Our unique global partnership with leading conservation charity WWF sees us collaborating across our school network, impacting on the education of more than 40,000 young people each year. With the WWF having played a key role in identifying the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, it is a natural partnership for Globeducate.
Student-led action for a sustainable future:
Eco-Schools
Eco-Schools is the world´s largest sustainability education programme. Globeducate schools are all committed to being certified Eco-Schools.
Across our network, our students and teachers find inspiring and innovative ways to take action and make impact, and to mark globally recognised events such as Earth Hour.
These days unite our whole Globeducate family as our students and teachers from across different age groups and cultures share their successes and challenges.
Inspiring students
to make a valuable contribution
to the world through
global events
Globeducate schools across the world join together for a series of annual international events.
Throughout the year, Globeducate regularly organises events and invites students and teachers from across our network to attend or, where possible, participate remotely.
Our events are organised into three areas:
-
Globeducate Events (Seven global events)
-
Globeducate Agenda (WWF, Eco-Schools, Debates)
-
Globeducate Learning Communities (Outdoor Learning, Reading, STEAM).
"The Student Leadership Summit really does help you and change your perspective on what a leader is, it really does make a difference even if you think you already know how to be one, the Summit will teach you other ways to lead."
— Rodrigo, Grade 12
Globeducate Calendar
We are looking forward to having our students participate in many great events in 2024/2025!
hiai! Student AI Project
The hiai! project is a multidisciplinary project that involves robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing to create a robot that has the capabilities to understand commands and interact with humans. The project uses a state-of-the-art natural language processing AI model developed by OpenAI. This enables Rita to understand and respond to human speech, as well as perform a variety of tasks such as playing music, setting alarms, and answering questions.
AInstein‘s hardware includes a Raspberry Pi, a camera, a microphone, and a speaker, which are used to detect human presence and enable communication. The robot is programmed to learn and improve over time through a combination of supervised and unsupervised learning.
The project started with the participation of the whole school (Junior, Middle, and Senior) through the process of choice of the famous scientist Rita Levi-Montalcini; research about her work and important contributions to neuroscience, she won a Nobel prize in 86 for her discovery of a bodily substance that stimulates the growth of nerve cells.
The students in the Middle and Senior Schools participated in the 3D printing and coding of the robot. The Senior School students also created a committee to discuss the ethical issues regarding the use of AI.
Building 21st-century skills for a better future
At the heart of our Globeducate vision — we prepare students to be global citizens who can shape the world — lies our commitment to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to make their own impact on the future.
-
Collaborative learning enables hands-on play, sparking curiosity and creativity in our youngest students.
-
Real-life, curriculum-aligned projects to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
-
Advanced learning opportunities for older students through coding and robotics. Mentoring younger students.
Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics play a crucial part in every young Globeducate student´s learning journey. We work with LEGO ® Education and, in our ICS schools, Arts International, to support our STEAM Programme.
International Experiences
The Study Abroad programme gives our students the opportunity to study and stay at one of our world-class boarding schools in the UK, Andorra, Spain, or Cyprus.
Globeducate International Summer Camps are packed with unique, transformative experiences to take students out of their comfort zones by blending learning, excitement, and cultural exploration.
