Daniel Melchior
Born and raised surrounded by the forests and lakes of Northern Ontario (Canada), Daniel joined the Canadian School of Florence community when the school first opened in Fall 2017. Daniel is a passionate Ontario Certified Teacher who specializes in teaching History and Law, although he has taught a large variety of courses since joining the school. Daniel, or known to the students as “Mr. M”, is a strong proponent of student choice and advocacy and has worked closely with the student community in developing the Signoria student governance body and the exciting house system. If there is a spirit day, you know Mr. M is dressed up and ready for anything.
Daniel’s main priority, as Guidance Counselor, is to support and advise students in the journey of pursuing post-secondary opportunities. Always eager to watch students learn and discover their passions, Daniel is proud of each university offer of acceptance that students receive and celebrates each new life experience that our students encounter. Working with staff and leadership, Daniel aims to help develop a specialized and robust offering of courses and curriculum for students to pursue.
Outside of school Daniel remains a fierce advocate for mental wellness and the LGBTQ community both in Italy and back in Canada. An avid traveler, reader, and foodie – his carbonara is often a fan favourite.
