Head of School

Jean Paul Gagnier is a distinguished French-Canadian educator and educational leader from Pointe aux Roches, Ontario. Raised in a francophone community, he completed his entire education in French while developing full bilingual fluency in both French and English. His strong cultural roots and commitment to French-language education have shaped a lifelong dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and student success.

Mr. Gagnier earned an Honours Baccalaureate in History from the University of Ottawa, followed by a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s degree in Education.

He began his professional journey as a high school teacher, spending eight years teaching history and geography. Known for his engaging instruction and commitment to student learning, he quickly established himself as a respected educator and mentor.

Building on his classroom experience, Mr. Gagnier served four years as a school principal, where he demonstrated strong leadership, a collaborative approach, and a deep commitment to fostering positive school cultures. He later advanced to the role of Curriculum Principal and Cultural and Pastoral Services, overseeing programming and support initiatives across 30 schools. During this time, he also completed placements with the Ontario Ministry of Education, contributing to broader educational initiatives and system-wide improvements.

Mr. Gagnier went on to serve for 12 years as a Superintendent of Education, providing strategic leadership in curriculum development, student achievement, leadership training, and system innovation. His expertise in educational leadership led him to teach the Principal Qualifications Course and an internal leadership development programs, where he helped prepare and mentor future school and system leaders across Ontario.
