Iseabail Rowe
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Iseabail Rowe earned a 1st Class Bachelor of Arts with Honours at the University of Nottingham, which included a final-year exchange to the University of McGill, Montreal. She holds a Master of Studies from the University of Oxford, which is where she first discovered her love of teaching working on several university initiatives with inner-city high schools to improve access to higher education. She completed her Masters in 2016 before moving to Florence to pursue a PhD in History at the European University Institute. Here, alongside her PhD, Iseabail earned her teaching certificate, and began teaching at Florence University of the Arts. During her PhD Iseabail travelled widely for research and conferences and was granted a six-month research scholarship at New York University. Iseabail has been settled in Florence for the past six years. She joined the Canadian School of Florence originally as a teacher of English Literature and then became Head of the English Department before moving to her most recent position in the Leadership Team as Coordinator of Academics, a role which has spanned both the Senior and Primary schools. Iseabail speaks both English and Italian fluently, and welcomes correspondence in either language. A keen rower since university, Iseabail is a proud member of the Società Canottieri Firenze. Her other interests include reading, hiking, baking, and illustration.
