Rossana DeRubeis

Ms. DeRubeis joined The Canadian School of Florence in 2018 after teaching 35 years in Ontario at the high school level in Toronto.  During her time in Toronto Ms. DeRubeis was involved in designing, developing, and implementing educational programmes that addressed differentiated learning needs of students. She has extensive knowledge about learning strategies, accommodation of course material, and she has worked collaboratively with classroom teachers both in Ontario, Florence and Fiesole to help students learn and achieve the goal of becoming independent, life-long learners. Ms. DeRubeis has also worked at the system level in overseeing and coordinating experiential learning opportunities through highly developed internship programmes both in Ontario and in Florence. Although Ms. DeRubeis is a first generation Canadian from Italian parents, she has always regarded Italy, especially Tuscany, as her real home.
