Discover more details about the Ontario Canadian Curriculum...
At the Canadian School of Florence, we teach the globally recognized Ontario Canadian Curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This prestigious curriculum has helped us obtain our Italian Paritaria school accreditation from the Italian Ministry of Education at both our Junior and Middle School campuses.
Our Kindergarten program, for kids age 3 to 5 years, benefits from the same curriculum, but the teachers also draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. At all of our campuses, our teachers implement this curriculum while prioritizing other international educational practices and standards. At the Senior School, this approach, along with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma has ensured our students success in some of the highest-ranking universities around the world - including Italy!
We believe the primary purpose of assessment and evaluation is to improve student learning. Thanks to the principles of "Growing Success", we teach with the goal of preparing the whole student to achieve, based on his or her interests, abilities, and personal goals.
Our total-immersion English language teaching allows students to master both 21st century skills (creative and critical thinking, collaboration, communication, problem solving, self regulation) while contributing to the development of the whole child (cognitive, emotional, physical, social).
Our teaching philosophy is to help students discover who they are as learners and to develop the strategies that aid them in reaching their full potential
