Career Day 2025 exploring pathways to success

Career Day 2025 exploring pathways to success

On April 30, 2025, CSF hosted its much-anticipated Career Day, offering students in Grades 9 through 12 an invaluable opportunity to engage with accomplished professionals across diverse fields. The event was thoughtfully divided into two sessions, tailored to the distinct stages of the students' academic and career planning journeys.

Session 1 was designed for Grades 9 and 10. Students gathered in separate venues—Grade 9 in the Cafeteria and Grade 10 in the Science Lab—with moderators Mr. Nicholas Bouzalas, an international teacher and coach, and Ms. Elia Nichols, a public speaking coach and actress. The session began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Rowe and Ms. DeRubeis, followed by a series of brief yet insightful introductions from speakers such as Ramya Subrahmanian, Jennifer Speciale, Rob Murgatroyd, David Bach, Gene Lewis, Tina Cicchetti, Ren Ruane, and Gabe Ruane. A dynamic Q&A session allowed students to explore career paths, essential skills, and the real-world lessons the speakers had gathered over their professional journeys.

Session 2 followed a similar format for Grades 11 and 12, as students prepared for university applications and life beyond high school. Moderators and speakers guided students through discussions about career planning, the importance of flexibility and resilience, and the unexpected ways early interests could shape future careers.

The event concluded with a group picture, celebrating the day's shared wisdom and connections.

Career Day 2025 proved to be an enriching experience, empowering students with personal insights, practical advice, and motivation as they contemplated their futures.

The day was such an inspiration to our students, that a group of Grade 12s asked three of the speakers to stay behind and return into the classroom, during their "Challenge and Change" class. David Bach, Jennifer Speciale, and Tina Cicchetti kindly agreed to do an impromptu sit-in for another 1 hour and a half, truly enriching our curious students classroom experience. We thank them for generously giving their additional precious time.
