CSF teachers strive to make lessons fun and engaging as they teach concepts...
The Grade 5 class learned about angles in their Math class with Ms. Jones in a unique way. The children had tape on their tables and used it to find all the different angle measurements.
Another class that got an overwhelming round of applause, was in Italian class, with Ms. Denise explaining ancient Egyptian traditions such as mummification. The kids had a blast seeing a real-life mummy in class, otherwise known as, Ms. Cinzia.
Lastly, Ms. Perdomo's Grade 7 science class set up their science projects outside at the beginning of lunch at the hottest point in the day. They made solar cookers and coolers with conductive or insulating materials and left them out in the sun for about 2 hours. Then, they measured their marshmallows and ice cubes to see how much they cooked or melted, and then gathered the data in their binders.
This was a fun (yet gooey!) exercise in how to make an experiment, collect and record data, and then analyze the results.
