ANTICIPATION BUILDS FOR THE NEXT GLOBEDUCATE GLOBAL OLYMPICS AT AGORA GRANADA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Excitement is mounting for the upcoming Globeducate Global Olympics, set to take place from the 4th to the 6th of June at Agora Granada International School in Spain. This eagerly awaited annual event promises to bring together 300 students from 30+ Globeducate schools across the globe, including Cyprus, Italy, Portugal, France, the UK, Spain, and Andorra.
Agora Granada International School, renowned for its sporting excellence and stunning campus and exceptional facilities, is proud to host this prestigious event. A total of 127 families at the school have generously volunteered to host the visiting students, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience for everyone involved - a popular feature of all Globeduate events, creating the potential for lasting friendships and connections between families all over the world.
As like last year, Canadian School of Florence is thrilled to be sending a couple of our student athletes to participate in the event! Stay tuned for coverage and pictures to come....
As the School Director of Agora Granada International School, Javier Jimenez, aptly puts it,
"We are thrilled to host the Globeducate Global Olympics this year, following on from the great success last year in Portugal when Nobel Algarve British International School Lagoa hosted the event. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with their peers from around the world, celebrate diversity, and showcase their athletic talents. We are committed to making this a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved."
The Global Olympics will kick off with a grand opening ceremony at the school's football pitch, where students will be welcomed and organised into their teams at the Olympic Village. The ceremony will be followed by a variety of competitive games designed to challenge and inspire young athletes. Highlights include the 7 vs. 7 net sport Fullnet, a series of exciting relay races, and an array of athletic events such as the 50m race, long jump contest, and relay races.
Students will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills in team sports like basketball, football, and floorball, as well as in aquatic competitions like water polo. Each event is carefully structured to promote teamwork, perseverance, and fair play, reflecting the core values of Globeducate which include Educational Excellence, Developing Skills and Competencies, Building Character and Nurturing Global Perspectives.
Monica Fontán, Globeducate Education Director, said:
"The event is not just about competition; it's also about fostering international friendships and cultural exchange. With students from diverse backgrounds coming together, the Global Olympics is a unique platform for building lasting connections and mutual respect. Each year, the students and families share tremendous feedback about the impact of taking part - with lasting memories forever."
As we count down the days to this extraordinary event, the anticipation is palpable. The Globeducate Global Olympics promises to be an unforgettable experience, celebrating the spirit of international collaboration and the joy of sport. We look forward to seeing the remarkable achievements of our young athletes and the cherished memories they will create in Granada.
