JUNE 4-7
Some our finest Middle School athletes got the chance to go to Granada, Spain to try their luck at different sports challenges at the Globeducate Global Olympics. Ron H., Esme G.W.P., Ginevra A.G., Nikon Z., and Justin D. were excited to participate with our 5th grade chaperoning (super sporty) teacher, Mr. Ryan. As they left Italian soil and their confidence and excitement was at an all time high, they were quoted saying:
- Justin- I'm really excited to stay with my host family; they even have a swimming pool!
- Esme- I love the fact I'm missing a week of school to go to Granada. It's a vibe!
- Ginevra- I'm really looking forward to the experience!
- Ron- I'm really looking forward to the football because I love football!
- Nikon- I'm really looking forward to the soccer, I'm going to score 5 goals!
The students took part in a lot of activities like, the long jump, soccer, racing, and more.... They also got the chance to practice their Spanish while staying with host families, which made their time in Spain, that more authentic and special. As their time came to an end and it was time to go home, Mr. Ryan was able to reflect with the students about their time. They came to the following conclusions:
- Ron- I loved the water polo because it was so hot outside it was really refreshing.
- Ginevra- I really enjoyed meeting new people.
- Justin- I love the feeling of having the responsibility to look after yourself and then going home feeling more grown up.
- Nikon- I've loved the experience of being away from home.
- Esme- My muscles hurt so much I couldn't even walk to get water!
