Healthy Active Living Week and Sports Day!

Healthy Active Living Week and Sports Day!

OCTOBER 7-12

Written by Grade 12 student, Isabella Pirozzini

It was a week full of healthy living activities, like Yoga and Fencing, nutrition and mindfulness. The week culminated in an exciting Sports Day enjoyed by the whole school.

As friends were made and games were played, the spirit of healthy active living was spread through the CSF community. The returning students from first to twelfth grade welcomed and cheered for the pre-K class that joined for their very first year, as well as for the graduating class's very last.

A twelfth-grade student, Rodrigo Brazão, expressed how the day not only taught us about healthy practices and the value of exercise but also brought us together:

"I feel like sports day united our school into one big family," said Rodrigo.

Thanks to our wonderful teachers who assisted in running different activities throughout the day, as well as the incredible organizers who made the day possible, it was a great success all across the board.

An inspiring teacher in the high school described the day as a great experience:

"I was really impressed with the house leaders and student council showing up early to set up. Also, the fact that it was cross-campus was amazing; some of the middle school kids got to come and work with the senior school, and I thought that was really amazing. The middle school has been talking about it all week."

"Mr. Fornai, Ms. Malone, and Mr. Tolossi spent weeks—probably months—working on it, and it really came together. The weather worked perfectly; it was sunny all day until the very last moment," said Hanah Peterlin.

The teams were divided by the five houses named after historical figures. All of our teams' efforts and participation were greatly appreciated and far from forgotten. The lucky team claiming first place this year was Donatello, with an inspiring 618 points collected throughout the day. Close behind was Raffaello with 572 points, and third place went to Leonardo, accumulating 549 points.

Following the activities, fresh and refreshing smoothies were given as students made their way home proudly. The success of the day reminded us all of the power of teamwork and the joy of coming together as a community.
